Overview
The Dooars belonged to the Kamata Kingdom under the Koch dynasty; They acted as a trade route between Assam and Bhutan. Assam exports Muga, silk cloth, endi cloth, dried fish and rice and imports consisted of woollen cloth, gold-dust, rock salt, yaktails musk, ponies and blankets from Bhutan.

Meet & greet on arrival at NJP Rly Station/IXB Airport then drive to Jaldapara via car. The
road runs through the dense forests of Mahananda Wild Life Sanctuary, the natural play
ground of wild elephant, tiger and deer. We reach Sevok just at the base of the hills. See
the gorgeous view of Tista River as it comes out from the deep gorge of the Himalayas
and spreads its arms in the vast plains on North Bengal. Now we cross the historical
Coronation Bridge over Tista and enter in Dooars.
Transfer to the Resort. Get refreshed and walk and Spend the day at leisure watching the
colourful birds around you and exploring the village lifestyle around the Sanctuary.
Overnight stay at Jaldapara.
Today early morning have an exciting elephant ride deep into the grassland of Jaldapara.
Watching the rhinos and other animals from the elephant is an unforgettable experience.
After a memorable ride we return to the Rest house and have breakfast.
After breakfast we drive to Lataguri in Central Dooars & reach Murti on the bank of a
beautiful river and spend some time to take photographs. Now we proceed to Lataguri
through the forest of Gorumara National Park. Check in at resort. Get refreshed and
experience the natural surroundings. We will provide an exclusive car safari to Gorumara
National Park which is having a very good population of one horned rhino, leopard,
elephant and bison. Then we will proceed to various Watch Towers which provides an
excellent view of the Grassland with the Murti and Jaldhaka River flowing through it. After
a thrilling excitement we come back to Resort. Overnight stay at Lataguri.
After breakfast we proceed for an excursion to Samsing - a cool shady place in lower
Kalimpong hills. We reach at Samsing via Chalsa. Arriving Samsing you get an aerial view
of roaring Murti River. Then towards Suntaleykhola which is surrounded by high forested
hills on all sides with a small stream running through it. Spend some relaxed hour near
the stream and watch the flocks of colorful birds around you. From Samsing we drive
back towards Lataguri via a jungle safari to Chapramari Sanctuary. The watch tower near
the pond is an ideal place to watch the wild elephant as they spend long time in the
water. Spend your time in the midst of the sanctuary and back to resort. Overnight stay
at Lataguri.
Day 4: Lataguri to Lava via Gorubathan- 90kms in 3.5 hrs, approx
Today we check out from Lataguri after breakfast and drive to Lava-a foggy village in the
lesser trodden Kalimpong hills. The journey now runs through the vast plains of Dooars
covered with lush green tea gardens and forests. Lava is the gateway of Neora Valley
National Park, a virgin, unexplored terrain in the Himalayas. A drive to Choudaferri inside
the park through the pine clad winding road and the Sunrise spot at Tiffin Dara are worth
viewing. Check in at Hotel. Get refreshed and spend a relaxed evening in the mystique
landscape. Overnight stay at Lava.
Today we proceed to Rishop which is famous for an uninterrupted view of mountains like
Kangchenjunga, Kokthang, Rathung, Kabroo, Talung, Pandim, Simvo, Narsingh, Siniolchu.
Spend some leisure hours at Rishop and Back to Lava.
(Due to very poor condition of the road we recommend a trek to Rishop in 2.5hrs rather
than going by car)
Trek Around Lava . Lava offers some interesting trek options like Neora Valley National
Park - an undisturbed forest land most of which is still unexplored.
(It takes 3 days to reach inside the Park, So we would take you only to the main entry pt).
We would come back to hotel by afternoon and by evening we start for Lolegaon- an
important offbeat destination in Kalimpong hills. It is a small Lepcha village and sunrise
and sunset from Jhandidara will leave you spellbound.
The unique 'Canopy Walk' over the century old mossy Oak and Cypress in the Heritage
Forest is a thrilling experience. Then return to Lava in the evening. Overnight at hotel.
Today we check out from Lava and drive back to Siliguri/IXB/NJP. Tour ends with pleasant
memories.
