Overview
Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

Pick up from Paro International Airport and transfer to Thimphu –

Meet and greet at Paro International Airport and transfer to Thimphu, which
is approx. 1Hrs 30Min driver from Paro. Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital, occupies
a valley in the country’s western interior. In addition to being the government
seat, the city is known for its Buddhist sites. The massive Tashicchhoe Dzong
is a fortified monastery and government palace with gold-leaf roofs. The
Memorial Chorten, a whitewashed structure with a gold spire, is a revered
Buddhist shrine dedicated to Bhutan’s third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk.

Punakha to transfer Paro & Overnight stay at Paro
After breakfast: Transfer to Paro - passing by Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge
En Route, distancing approximately 143 km and 5 hours from Punakha. It is
the site of the country’s only international airport and is also known for the
many sacred sites in the area. It has a population of 39, 800 - On arrival check
in at the hotel – Do Local market sightseeing - Overnight Stay at Paro.

Paro Taktsang is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple
complex is located in the Cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan.
A temple complex was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Singe
Samdrup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for
three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th
century. Padmasambhava is credited with introducing Buddhism to Bhutan
and is the tutelary deity of the country. Today, Paro Taktsang is the best
known of the thirteen Taktsang or "tiger lair" caves in which he meditated.
